Respite Care is short-term inpatient care available to a patient when it becomes necessary to relieve a primary caregiver (family members, friends, or other persons) caring for the individual in a home setting.
When caregivers need a break from caregiving, for whatever the reason - an emotional break, a physical break, family vacation, special occasion, or just because - Calcutta House can help by providing a brief “respite” for caregivers by admitting the patient for up to 5 days. At the conclusion of the 5-day stay, patients return to home hospice care.
